Upper Body Strength Class
Starts Tuesday January 26th
Julie Burtis, Doctor of Physical Therapy will teach an Upper Body Strength class as part of the core stability class series.
Beginning January 26th, 2016 from 7:30-8:30pm Julie will offer a six week class focusing on upper body strength. The class will be six weeks long and cost $120.
Class size will be limited in order to address individual needs and written instruction for home practice will be provided. This class is designed to be beneficial for students of all levels, including participants in the back care and gentle classes. Students are required to purchase an theraband for both class use and home practice.
The first two classes are focused on correct breathing and developing the ability to identify and contract the correct muscles. The beginning exercises are done lying down and the first few classes won’t feel like a traditional “work out”. As the course progresses, more dynamic exercises are added to give a stronger upper body contraction.
You will learn how to integrate core stability exercises with upper body strengthening. Participants will use theraband resistance bands to perform exercises targeting the chest, upper back, and arms. Written instructions will be provided for home practice. Theraband will be available for purchase at the first class at a cost of $10 dollars per student. All levels are welcome.
When: Tuesday Evenings, 7:30-8:30 pm, starting January 26th. Please preregister for this class.
